Glen Coe pass, West Highlands — Documented on public transit and student sleeper rail.

Editorial Mission & Heritage

Scotland shouldn’t cost a fortune to explore.

Weekend Scotland began as a pocket zine by Edinburgh students determined to climb the Cairngorms and reach the Outer Hebrides without owning cars or spending hundreds on guided tours.

Today, our independent publication tests every bus route, sleeper service, free bothy, and cheap local ferry so you can experience dramatic lochs, ancient castles, and wild coastlines on an honest weekend budget.
